On January 31, four Nika gymnasts traveled to the Solo Rhythmic Invitational Meet in Atlanta, Georgia — their very first competition. They performed eight routines and came home with eight medals. Not a bad debut.

Each girl competed in two events — a floor routine and a ball routine — performed solo, to music, in front of the judges. All four placed in both of their events.

For all four girls, this was their first competition ever. A new city, a new arena, unfamiliar faces from other clubs — and then your name is called, and you walk out onto the carpet alone to perform what you've practiced for months at our Oak Ridge studio.Doing that for the first time takes real courage.
Doing it twice in one day — once with a floor routine, once with a ball routine — and placing in both events every single time is a debut any club would be proud of.
